4S Information Technologies held an event jointly with Armada Computer, VMware and Riverbed about desktop virtualization on June 06,2012 at Rixos Hotel in Ankara. Event was named as “Your Desktop is Wherever You Are”. Approximately 50 people from private and public sector attended to the event. Main topics were cost reduction with desktop virtualization and efficiency improvement.
Armada Computer Sales Manager Berna Poyraz and 4S Information Technologies Corporate Technology Advisor Ökkeş Özdemir made opening speech of the event. They have explained that why corporates should adopt desktop virtualization and what kind of advantages they would gain from this technology. After opening speech, VMware System Engineer Engin Metin generally explained VMware’s virtualization visions. 4S Solution Technologies Specialist Cem Bilgin gave information about VMware View 5.1.
4S has implemented desktop virtualization project in Atatürk Forest Farm (AOÇ). AOÇ IT Manager Can Ersoy shared that how they have applied the project and advantages that AOÇ gained.
Riverbed System Engineer Öner Çetin made Granite presentation. Cem Bilgin performed live VMware View 5.1 demo. Demo was performed via connection with 4S Bilkent Technology Solution Center. Participants have witnessed that how a virtual desktop is created by VMware View within minutes and they have seen management interface which is accessible via every internet browser.
